The seminar provides a comprehensive overview of current trends, operational challenges, and effective responses in an increasingly transnational criminal environment.
The programme examines human trafficking in its various forms, including sexual exploitation, forced labour, and trafficking of minors, with particular attention to the links between trafficking networks and other types of cross-border crime such as smuggling, document fraud, money laundering, and organized crime. Participants will explore the legal frameworks at national and international levels, including relevant international conventions, regional instruments, and best practices for cross-border cooperation.
Through expert-led lectures, case studies, and interactive discussions, the seminar focuses on practical investigative approaches, intelligence-led policing, victim identification and protection, and the use of financial and digital evidence. Special emphasis is placed on inter-agency and international cooperation, information sharing, and joint investigations.
The seminar also addresses the human rights dimension of law enforcement work, highlighting victim-centred and trauma-informed approaches, as well as cooperation with prosecutors, NGOs, and international organizations.
By the end of the seminar, participants will have strengthened their understanding of human trafficking and cross-border crime, enhanced their operational and analytical skills, and expanded their professional networks to support effective international cooperation.
